Trying something new can be nerve-wracking, especially when it involves soaring above the treetops at high speeds. But we've guided thousands of first-timers through our courses, and here's what you can expect.
Arrival & Check-In
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour. During summer (May-October), check in at our main course location at 45045 US Hwy 50. In winter (November-April), check in at 302 Royal Gorge Blvd in Canon City and we'll transport you to the course.
Ground School
Every tour starts with a comprehensive ground school session led by your guide. You'll learn how to properly wear your harness, use the braking system, and maintain a safe body position. Our guides are patient, encouraging, and have seen every level of nervousness. You're in great hands.
Getting Geared Up
You'll be fitted with a full-body harness, helmet, leather gloves, and two steel lanyards that keep you connected to the cable at all times. Our dual lanyard system means you're never unattached, even when transitioning between platforms.
The First Line
The first zip line is intentionally shorter and lower to help you build confidence. By the time you complete it, most guests are grinning from ear to ear and ready for more. Your guide will be right there coaching you through every step.
The Rest of the Tour
Each subsequent line gets a bit longer, higher, or faster, building your confidence progressively. The entire tour takes about 3 hours and includes moderate walking between platforms. The scenery is stunning, with views of Colorado forests and the Royal Gorge plateau.
